History of Physics Group Events in 2004
Events took place on 18 September and
30 October.
- Saturday 30 October 2004 preliminary announcement    2004 AGM
The Group Annual General Meeting will be held at 12 noon in the University of
Birmingham. We hope it will be in the Physics Department, the Poynting Building,
but this is not yet confirmed. It will be followed at 2pm by a meeting,
'Was there life before Einstein?'.

PROGRAMME
Saturday 18thSeptember Main meeting
09.45 - 18.00
The morning session will be devoted to science museums, outreach etc, including a talk by E Guyon (former director of the Palais de la Découverte).
Lunch will be taken in some of the nearby restaurants.
The afternoon will be devoted to talks on prominent personalities from
various periods, including Néel (JMD Coey),
together with some discussion of plans for the
International Year of Physics (Einstein Year 2005).
Sunday 19thSeptember
The morning is free for delegates to explore the area, while the committees
discuss future events.
It is intended that walking tours and visits will be organised for the
Sunday afternoon ending about 17.00.

* L’Ecole
Supérieure Physique, Chimie Industrielle (ESPCI) is in the
Latin Quarter of Paris, close to metro stations
Censier Daubenton, Luxembourg etc, and a variety of good hotels.
