History of Physics Group Annual General Meeting

AGM 2004
The Annual General Meeting of the History of Physics Group will be held at the Poynting building of the Physics Department of the University of Birmingham at 12 mid-day on Saturday, 30th October 2004.

It will be followed at 2pm by a meeting on " Was there Life before Einstein? "

Travel details: frequent trains from Birmingham New Street arrive at the University station which is about 5 minutes walk from the Physics Department. Further travel information can be found on the University pages

Call for nominations
Nominations are invited for Chairman and Honorary Secretary and for Members of the Committee of the History of Physics Group. Elections will take place at the Annual General Meeting on 30 October 2004, in the Physics Department, Poynting Building, University of Birmingham.

Under the constitution the Committee comprises the Officers of the Group - the Chairman and the Honorary Secretary - together with normally not more than nine ordinary members. The officers are normally elected for a period of two years and are eligible for re-election for a further two-year period. Ordinary members are normally elected for a period of not more than four years. Officers and Members of the Committee must be members of the Group.

Nominations must be proposed by not less than two members of the Group, and must be accompanied by the written consent of the nominee. Nominations must be sent to the Honorary Secretary (at the address below) preferably to arrive by a week before the date of the AGM.

Any member of the group wishing to bring forward business for consideration at the Annual General Meeting should also contact the Honorary Secretary at the address below.
